Market intelligence and research software

Every insider filing, cleaned and put in context

FilingIQ reads every Form 4 on SEC EDGAR, marks the paperwork (plan trades, tax withholding, option exercises, gifts, derivatives, amendments) and shows each open-market purchase and sale with the same fixed facts. 13F holdings and congressional trades sit alongside.

The Problem

Most Form 4 lines are paperwork

Thousands of Form 4 filings reach EDGAR every week. Most of them report shares withheld for taxes, options exercised, grants, gifts or trades under a pre-arranged plan. Funds rebalance. Politicians disclose trades weeks later, as dollar ranges. A raw feed lists all of it the same way.

Raw data overload

Thousands of filings every week, each one a table of transaction codes and footnotes you have to read yourself.

Same line, different things

A CEO sells shares. Was it tax withheld on vesting stock, a sale under a 10b5-1 plan, or an open-market sale? A raw feed shows one line for all three.

No filter

In a raw feed an open-market purchase sits next to an option exercise and a gift, and nothing tells them apart.

The Facts

Seven facts on every purchase and sale

A Form 4 line says who traded how many shares at what price. The context is spread across the insider's other filings. FilingIQ puts it next to the trade, always the same seven lines in the same order, for purchases and sales alike. A value the filings do not give reads "not available".

Example values below, not from a real filing.

  1. 01 · Size in their own history

#1 of 14 open-market purchases by this insider at this company (since 2019)

Ranked by dollar value among the same person's purchases, or sales, at the same company.

  2. 02 · Holdings change

    Direct holdings +41% (126,000 → 178,000 shares)

Before and after the trade, direct or indirect. A first purchase reads "new position".

  3. 03 · Previous trade

Previous: sale, 3.2 years earlier (Aug 2023)

The same person's last open-market trade at the same company, or "first on record".

  4. 04 · Other insiders

    2 other insiders: 2 purchases, 0 sales

Different people at the same company in the 30 days before the filing, purchases and sales counted apart.

  5. 05 · Trading plan

Rule 10b5-1 plan: yes / no / not stated

From the filing's plan box (since April 2023) or a footnote that names a plan.

  6. 06 · Reporting time

Reported 1 business day after the trade (deadline: 2)

Business days from the trade to the filing, against the two-day legal deadline.

  7. 07 · Other companies

Also an insider at: up to 3 other companies

Same person, same SEC CIK, with their last open-market trade at each.

Every rule is written down on the methodology page. The facts describe the filing. They do not say what the stock will do.

The Solution

The paperwork is marked. The trades stay in view.

Cleaned, not just listed.

FilingIQ marks every line that is paperwork rather than a trade on the open market: Rule 10b5-1 plan trades, tax withholding, option exercises and the sales paired with them, grants, gifts, derivatives and amendments. They are hidden by default and one switch away. What stays in view are open-market purchases and sales, each with the same seven facts. Of the 406,014 Form 4 transaction lines filed in the twelve months to October 13, 2026, that left 46,629, about one in nine (FilingIQ database, read October 14, 2026).
